A stunning ending to amazing saga. Of you've made this far into the saga you are already a fan of Mr. Fox's work and this final chapter will not disapoint. It amazes me how much he was able to fit into this book and still keep the story from feeling rushed. The best part by far is chapter 18 which was so well written it left my family in tears. It's my advice to any and every one to join Hale and the gang on their final adventure (so far)Product details

The Xaros Reckoning The Ember War Book 9 (Audible Audio Edition) Richard Fox Luke Daniels Podium Publishing Books Reviews
Just finished the last book in the series. Luved it, sad that it is over, appreciate the tying up of numerous story lines with completion of each in Torni's letter. I happened to read The Terran Armor Corps books 1st by chance which led me to this series, also a great series, hoping for more installments along that story line.
If you are looking for a great series to pick up from beginning to end here you go. Everyone gets what's coming to them in this book, everyone. Standing is gold as always. The marine banter was the highlight for me throughout most of the series.
Only thing that I found sad was... it ended... I so wanted more!!
It was a very entertaining and rather complete ending for a lot of the threads started in the other books of the series.
I think that I would've loved to get more closure than what was related in the end, however, this is probably by design! I do believe the author has the ability and the option to diverge and enrich the Ember wars universe with multiple stories following many characters both old and new, and I am looking forward to reading and listening to more from this universe!!
A worthy conclusion to this sci-fi series.
Characters are still well developed, action steady and page turning, bad guys still bad, good guys still good.
A most enjoyable series.
While this book ends the Ember War series, my guess is this might only be the beginning as there seems plenty of partner universes Richard Fox could explore - as shown by the Post-Ember Armor story. The best part of this series is that it is such an enjoyable read. The plot line always moves forward and, while some of the characters are irritating, the others are so well-done, you look forward to what the next book has to offer. Easily one of the best Sci-Fi series of recent years... maybe only behind David Weber's Honor Harrington and Safehold series. Like Weber did with the "Honorverse," I could easily see Fox expanding this storyline to Hale's exploits after the war, what happened to Terra Nova and, like the previously mentioned Armor book, a post-Ember Earth. If you're looking for a fun, easy, fast-paced read... this is as good as it gets.
A great end to the series! As I've said about the other books, this isn't the best sci-fi I've read, but the setting, plot and characters hooked me in and kept me waiting for the next book to be published. It's classic space opera, with heroes, villains and giant space battles.
If you've ever played the game Stellaris, this is it in book form!
Recommended.
I am a huge fan of this author and this is one of my favorite series. I feel the author is the best author writing Sci-fi today. He has a way to make you really care about the characters. Again a huge fan of the series .
With that being said I give this book a five star rating as it is a good book .Although for me it was a disappointing entry. It seems as though the author was rushed to finish this addition. There was several typos.( I cannot recall any in the other entries) There was a tremendous amount of material that could have been expanded on to make the story so much better. Again it just seemed hurried. While he usually is amazing with the core group of characters , it just seemed as half of them was on the sideline this entry . ( I mean Steuben had all of maybe 6 lines the entire book) . And finally the last chapters , smh. No , just no! No spoilers but wow , the way it ended in the letter from Torni with Ibarra and Stacey just seemed wrong. Just my humble opinion.
A stunning ending to amazing saga. Of you've made this far into the saga you are already a fan of Mr. Fox's work and this final chapter will not disapoint.
